Looking East – 8 Countries – 80 Artists – 8 Openings

Time has gone by so quickly, the ESSL ART AWARD CEE will be conferred for the 6th time! During the last few months the international jury shortlisted 10 artists per country out of more than 500 entries. It has been an intensive process, but now we are ready to travel to eight exciting destinations in Central and Southeastern Europe to see the art works in the original!

In a couple of days the jury travels for the ESSL ART AWARD 2015 are up again. The first station of our journey will be Ljubljana. From there we will continue via Zagreb to Budapest and the last stop of the first week will be Bratislava. We will have 1500 km of bus ride ahead of us a, 4 openings in four days and 120 artworks to look at closely and to decide
who will be the 2 winners.

Also our patroness Prof. Agnes Essl will accompany us and bring good spirits to the Jury group.

We just figured out a day ago, this award represents equality: 40 women and 40 men share their chance to gain the prestigious ESSL ART AWARD CEE 2015. Who will be the next prize winner? Will it be someone who can convince the jury by their critical approach to the current situation in some countries? Or will it be someone who uses art as an expression of very sensual aesthetics? Maybe conceptual aspects in the art works will rule over all? Either way, open to all media, the award gives the equal chance for all to win!
